You know those shoots where everything just clicks? Where the couple is so effortlessly in sync that all you have to do is hit the shutter and let the magic unfold? That was this shoot with Araya and Xavier.
And honestly, this one was extra special for me—because Araya is my cousin. I’ve known her since she was six, which makes getting to capture this part of her story so surreal.
Should We Reschedule? Nah, Let’s Go for It.
We almost rescheduled because of the weather. Late February in Utah? Yeah, it was snowy, cold, and the sky was that moody winter gray. But instead of calling it off, we decided to roll with it—and wow, I’m so glad we did.
We shot at one of their favorite trails near Murray/Taylorsville, a spot they love taking their dogs. The fresh snow, the river, and the whole cozy winter vibe ended up being the perfect setting. It felt like stepping into a little frozen love story.
Cuddles, Dancing, and Just Being Them
Araya and Xavier made my job ridiculously easy. I barely had to direct them—they just did their thing. A little cuddling here, some spontaneous dancing in the snow there. They’d naturally transition into different poses, and I just got to capture them being them.
They took turns bundling up in coats and braving the cold for the aesthetic (total pros). But what I loved most? How much fun they had with it. They weren’t just “getting photos done” – they were enjoying the moment, laughing through the shivers, and making the absolute best of a winter wonderland.

I just want to send the biggest congrats to these two. Their love is so clear, and I can’t wait to see it grow as they start this next chapter together. I’m beyond excited to capture their wedding and all the beautiful moments that will follow.
